Because of another nationally recognized holiday that I don't recognize, I had to work a little bit this afternoon. In other words, because people decided that today was the day that they had to take mommy out for a steak dinner at the Outback, everyone employed by the restaurant has to make an appearance in some fashion. And most of them were to be there all day.
2)
They had sandwiches, bags of chips, candy, red bull, and other treats mainly for the kitchen staff, but also for some of those who were there all day. Which pretty much means the piggiest people got their hands on what they wanted. I decided to leave it all for the kitchen staff and little piggies. A customer left $4 on a gift card the other day, so I planned to use it and buy a delicious steak sandwich with aus jus. I order the meal from the bartender. 10 minutes later I am walking around trying to find a manager with his manager's card to discount my meal. They were so busy the burden for getting my meal discounted fell onto me. Real cute. So I wait around for awhile, trying to get someone to help me, when all of a sudden another bartender asks if I wanted that food put in. The other guy hadn't even sent the order in yet. So I was nowhere close to getting my delicious lunch and leaving. And I needed to leave. It was clear a lot of the other people weren't getting to leave, and I didn't want to make anyone feel shortchanged or jealous.
So I left without my sandwich of awesomeness.

Well earlier I forgot to go to the store and replenish my supply of Dr. Pepper. It's a lot cheaper to do it at the grocery store. But this late at night I had to settle for 7-11. So I go in and I have to use the bathroom. Someone's in there. It's one of two employees. Thanks a lot lady. So not only have I disturbed this lady by interrupting her bathroom time, a fact in which she seems genuinely perturbed, but now I have to bother her again. There weren't any Dr. Pepper 2 liters in the display case. I happen to know that a lot of times they have extras in the back of the refrigerated area. So I stand around and wait for someone to help me by going in the back and getting me a cold Dr. Pepper.
4)
One of the bags of chips they had today at the restaurant were Chili Cheese Fritos. I love them! They're pretty much my favorite chip right now. But as I said earlier, I didn't take any of the free food from the restaurant today. So I thought I would pick up a bag with the Dr. Pepper. 7-11 didn't have any Chili Cheese Fritos. On a day of disappointments, who could be surprised? I settled for Cheetos. I get them home, and there's barely any cheese flavoring on them. The disappointment continues.

On the way home from picking up the Dr. Pepper and Cheesless-tos, I thought I would stop off at Taco Bell. A horrendous burrito from them actually sounded edible at this point. Now at about this point I should mention, I am on foot. So I walk up to the front door and of course ... it's locked. I thought about going around and using the drive-thru, but at this point I had had all of the disappointment I could handle. I probably would have gotten hit by a car if I had tried to walk through the drive-thru.
So I headed home, feeling slightly dejected, but glad to be alive and young in Oklahoma.
At least I got my Dr. Pepper. Happy greeting card holiday, people.
